Lucky Pup Green Treats - Paws & Co Dog Chews

Lucky Pup Green Treats

These homemade St. Patrick’s Day treats are both nutritious and festive, featuring dog-friendly greens that will have your furry companion feeling the Irish spirit!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for sensitive pups)
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, packed
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley (helps with breath freshening!)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (melted)
  • 1-2 tablespoons water (if needed to adjust consistency)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, blend the spinach and parsley until finely chopped.
  3. Add the banana, applesauce, egg, and coconut oil to the processor and blend until smooth.
  4. Transfer the green mixture to a large bowl and gradually stir in the flour until a dough forms. The dough should be firm but pliable – add a little water if it’s too dry.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
  6. Cut into shamrock shapes using a cookie cutter, or simply use any dog bone or small cookie cutter you have.
  7. Place treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are golden and treats are firm.
  8. Allow to cool completely before serving to your pup.
  9. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, or freeze for longer storage.
